Apples and Pears Past is a community archive project run by the Cider Museum.  It was funded in 2006 and 2007 by the Heritage Lottery Fund with help from the Marcher Apple Network and the Three Counties Cider and Perry Association.  The project continues with the help of volunteers.

The aim of the project is to record memories of people who have worked in the cider and perry industry.  We are interested in orcharding, making, selling and drinking cider and would like to speak to anyone who has experience in any of these fields.

What we do is go out and listen to people, recording their memories on small digital recorders and storing them in the archive at the Cider Museum where they will be used by anyone researching cider and perry in the future.  We are also scanning in photographs people have that relate in any way to cider and perry.

If you have memories and would like to help, or if you would like to volunteer, please get in touch.
