Dr David Marshall

Dr David Marshall is a Chartered Accountant. He has a doctorate in sustainability accounting for orchards and is a member of the Sustainability Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. David worked for Bulmer’s Cider before setting up an accounting firm working with Herefordshire-based charities. He manages the Orchard Art project and the Apples & People exhibition programme for the Brightspace Foundation and is also a trustee of two other heritage-related charities.

Chris Fairs

Chris worked in the Orcharding Department at Bulmers from 1971-2012 advising growers on all aspects of planting, orchard husbandry and long-term apple supply contracts. He was formerly chairman of Gillian Bulmer’s Pippin Trust, the assets of which, when wound up, were transferred to the Hereford Cider Museum Trust.

Alan Roe

After many years as Director and Managing Director in publishing, retail and direct marketing Alan became an Executive Director of the Royal Horticultural Society. After that in 2005 he set up his own consultancy for Heritage and Cultural tourism, operating throughout Europe. He has also held key posts in charities including since 2010 being Chair of Brogdale Collections responsible for access and information about the National Fruit Collection. Other positions have included being Vice Chair of Slow Food in the UK, a Trustee of Garden Organic and as a non-executive Director on the trading boards of the Royal Horticultural Society, and the Museum of London.

Catriona Ward

Catriona is an Icon Accredited Conservator who has worked in the heritage field in the UK and Australia for over thirty years. She has worked both in the public and private sectors and is the Conservator for Ward & Co (Building Conservation) Ltd. Her specialisms are project management, preventive conservation and conservation management. She has managed many individual collections conservation projects, provided training in care of collections and has been a project conservator on a number of large historic building re-servicing projects for the National Trust. She provides training locally and abroad and has presented papers at national and international conferences. Catriona is passionate about using her skills and experience to help preserve and showcase the significant historic items reflecting the history of cider making.
